Bio
Originally from North Carolina, Ellie earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of Alabama in 2023, carrying out research on Muslims living in Tuscaloosa. After graduating, Ellie spent a year in Seoul, South Korea, teaching English to ages 3-50 and exploring as much of the country as possible. Ellie’s graduate research interests focus on the overlap between daily embodied experience and the legal/social treatment of minority religions, specifically focused on Islamic practitioners in South Korea. One day, Ellie hopes to go to a career as a professor in religious studies or anthropology.
