This course is a broad, interdisciplinary introduction to the ways in which “science” and “religion” have been defined and their interactions over the years. Looking at the categories of “religion,” “science,” “magic,” and “technology,” we will consider various ways people have attempted to understand and control the world around them, and how those efforts have been categorized at different times and for different ends.
