Core writing course analyzes the retellings of ancient tales in contemporary pop culture (e.g., the Ramayana & Journey to the West), addressing issues surrounding myths and cultural identity & the ways people adapt stories for various purposes (e.g., politics of translation, adaptation, & classification).
